Американско колело

This wheel type is found in casinos across North and South America, and in every game of American roulette. The wheel has 38 pockets, 36 numbered from 1 to 36 and 2 reserved for the single zero and double zero. Half of the 36 numbered pockets are black and the other half are red, with the colors alternating. The zero and double-zero pockets are colored green. The two zero pockets are always on opposite sides of the wheel. The numbers are arranged in the following order, counted counterclockwise:

0, 2, 14, 35, 23, 4, 16, 33, 21, 6, 18, 31, 19, 8, 12, 29, 25, 10, 27, 00, 1, 13, 36, 24, 3, 15, 34, 22, 5, 17, 32, 20, 7, 11, 30, 26, 9, 28.

What sets this roulette wheel apart from those used in other variations is the additional double-zero pocket. For this reason, the American roulette wheel is often called the double-zero wheel. Adding the double zero increases the house edge to 5.26 percent, which is higher than in the other popular roulette games.

This wheel type is used in both French and European roulette because they are practically identical. It can be found mostly in continental Europe and Asia. Unlike the American wheel’s 38 pockets, the French wheel has only 37.

It contains 36 pockets for numbers 1 through 36, alternating black and red, plus a single zero pocket colored green. The number sequence on this wheel is unique and runs as follows:

26, 3, 35, 12, 28, 7, 29, 18, 22, 9, 31, 14, 20, 1, 33, 16, 24, 5, 10, 23, 8, 30, 11, 36, 13, 27, 6, 34, 17, 25, 2, 21, 4, 19, 15, 32.

As you can see, the French wheel has no double-zero pocket, which means the house edge is just 2.7 percent. That is the main difference between French and American wheels. There are, however, a few other discrepancies between European and French roulette. For example, the French version uses the “en prison” and “le partage” rules. These rules reduce the house edge even further, to 1.35 percent on some Outside bets, which makes French roulette the most player-friendly variant of the game.

American roulette is perhaps the most played version in land-based casinos. This variant appeared in the United States in the 19th century while the country was expanding westward. Today, American roulette is played mainly in South and North America, whereas the French and European versions enjoy wide popularity in Europe and Asia.

American roulette differs from the other variations in that it features a double-zero pocket, which further increases the house edge. The number sequence on the wheel is also slightly different from that of the French and European wheels. In some American casinos you may encounter the “Surrender” rule. In practice it is identical to “le partage” in French roulette, allowing you to keep half of your stake if you have placed an Outside bet and the ball lands in a zero pocket.

French roulette is almost identical to European roulette in every aspect except for a slight rule change. The French version features the “la partage” or “en prison” rule. “La partage” literally means “sharing,” and it applies when you place an Outside bet and the ball lands in the zero pocket. If this occurs, half of your stake is returned to you, while the other half goes to the casino.

“En prison,” which translates as “in prison,” comes into play when the ball lands in zero and you have an Outside bet on the table. If this happens, you do not lose your money immediately. Instead, it stays on the same Outside bet for the next spin, which determines whether you recover it or lose it.

These rules are very favorable to the player because they allow you to recover at least part of a losing wager. This makes French roulette the most advantageous variant in terms of probability and return.

European roulette is one of the most popular versions globally. It is available in many land-based casinos around the world as well as online. This version features 37 pockets, including numbers 1 through 36 and a single zero. Unlike American roulette, it has only one zero pocket, which makes the return to player far more favorable.

This is more accurately called the Gambler’s Fallacy, the idea that something must happen because it has not occurred for a while. There is no logical basis for this belief.

The truth is that casino games have no memory, whether you play in a land-based venue or online. The previous spin has no effect on the result of the next one because each spin is independent. While it is very unlikely, a number can come up multiple times in a row. This happened in 1959 when the number 10 appeared six consecutive times in a Puerto Rico casino. The odds of that happening are ridiculously low, 1 in 3,010,936,384. The point is that no spin is influenced by the previous ones and no number is ever “overdue” at any point in the game.
